I’m sure you’ve heard of the healing power of essential oils. These power punches of plant energy have functionality in many areas of life. You can use the same essential oil to help refresh a room and help clear up acne – they are conveniently multi-purpose!
In this article, we are going to talk about skincare and specifically, I’m three essential oils that I believe every woman should go out and buy right now.
Lavender Essential Oil
We often think of lavender essential oil when we think of relaxing and getting a good night’s rest. Lavender is good for much more than this however. Did you know that lavender essential oil is a powerful anti-bacterial agent that is gentle and moisturizing? Because of this lavender makes a wonderful addition to day and night moisturizers. You can even apply lavender essential oil with your toner on pimples to help them heal faster. It works similarly to tea tree oil, which is our next star.
Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea tree essential oil is an oldie but goodie. You may have heard of its ability to heal athletes’ foot – that same anti-microbial fighting power is what makes it such a powerful tool in skincare as well. In skincare, tea tree oil is used to fight pimple-causing bacteria. It can be used preventatively as an additive to your toner to give your skin a cleansing dose while tightening it and closing your pores. On most people it can also be used neat – which means it can be used directly on the skin. I always suggest testing this out first because on sensitive skin, it can burn.
Geranium Essential Oil
Geranium essential oil is one that I talk about often and it’s because it is so wonderful. It’s one that I feel all women should become intimately acquainted with. It is a powerful women’s oil that helps out in many aspects. For skincare, it is balancing and helps to even out skin tone as well as oil production. Because of this, it works well for all skin types. It’s also moisturizing and so has the ability to attract moisture and help it stay. The best way to use geranium essential oil is by adding it to your moisturizer. This way your skin gets to soak it in and receive greater benefit.
