Do you ever feel like you have to do it all? Sometimes as a woman, a mom, a business owner, and just in life, it’s easy to get caught up in the trap of feeling like we have to be and do everything, and do it exceptionally.
Well, if this sounds like you, I’m here to let you off the hook. There is no way you can do it all without eventually crashing and burning. And guess what? You weren’t born to do it all. You were born with specific gifts and passions, desires, characteristics, and emotions inside.
To become your best self, these are what you must cling to. And you must let the rest go. In order to be your best and make room for the real you, you need to let go of the things that no longer serve you. Whether it’s people, things, or faulty beliefs, letting go is necessary. Ironically, life is most abundant when we let go.
Here are a few things you probably should let go of:
- Toxic People
- The idea of “perfect”
- Self Doubt
- Unhealthy business or personal relationships
- Past Hurts
- Your comfort zone
- People Pleasing
Letting go requires change. And change can be scary.
If you are struggling with the idea of letting a few things go, here are some quotes to encourage you:
“You will find that it is necessary to let things go: simply for the reason they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them, I tie no weights to my ankles.” ~C. JoyBell C.
“The day she let go of the things that were weighing her down was the day she began to shine the brightest.” ~Katrina Mayer
“Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.” ~Herman Hesse
“We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned so-as to accept the life that is waiting for us.” ~Joseph Campbell
“Letting go is the willingness to change your beliefs in order to bring more peace and joy into your life instead of holding onto beliefs that bring pain and suffering.” ~Hal Tipper
“By letting go It all gets done.” ~Lao Tzu
“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” ~Buddha
“You’ve gotta know when it’s time to turn the page.” ~Tori Amos
“Let go or be dragged.” ~Unknown
“In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself.” ~Deepak Chopra
“If someone doesn’t care to accept you, respect you, believe in you, don’t hesitate to move on and let them go. There are many who love and appreciate you just the way you are.” ~Amaka Inami Nkosazana
And my favorite . . .
“Anything I cannot transform into something marvelous, I let go.” ~Anais Nin
So, if you are holding onto something that you cannot transform into something marvelous, be it a relationship, a business venture, or a belief system, have the courage to just let it go.
